You're so constantly salty about Drake that it's embarrassing. Sit the fuck down. If being the undeniable king of your genre in both sales and relevance makes you a joke then Goddamn I'd love to be a joke.
>implying record sales means how good you actually are.
For sure. But in general, people with internet know-how (the people you're talking to) know most of that stuff. People like Satan and I would be more likely to get into more underground hip-hop artists. In my case, I'm really into Lil Ugly Mane, Cities Aviv, Antwon, Death Grips, and other stuff like Shabazz Palaces. And stylistically, artist like PartyNextDoor and Jhene Aiko have a more poppy sound than a Cities Aviv. It's the same way two people can be more in to "underground" metal, but one is into prog/djent stuff which has more appeal like Periphery and Skyharbor and another dude is into doom metal bands like Aldebaran and Bell Witch. It's still "underground" but the two don't see shit the same.
Drake ain't getting that long term love though. He's gonna be like Sisco or Jah Rule. You'll prolly see him on celebrity rehab in 5 years with Amanda Bynes and Fred Durst tryna figure out where his money went
Mmm, not sure I really back you here. People like Trindad James will be forgotten in 5 years. Drake is working with the right people, I can see him remaining a prominent figure for a while. People will probably look at Drake the same way people look at Jay-Z and Kanye
We'll see, but it's pretty much been the same pattern with every pop rapper since Kurtis Blow. They own a small moment, then they turn into the butt of a joke. Ask Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Naughty by Nature, Diddy, Master P, Jah Rule, 50 Cent, etc. I don't see anyone calling Will Smith their rapping inspiration, but they do Big L. Same era, opposite wallets. Who was on top back then? Jay and Ye get a pass from a lot of people because they started off with good shit. You can see a lot of that luster fading though and they're more likely to be thought of in an LL Cool J type of sense soon. Where's Weezy's bandwagon now? Black Eyed Peas? Drake has also tethered himself to a lot of other sinking ships, which helped take out Fat Joe and Jadakiss in Jah Rule's collapse. If I'm wrong later, I'll be the first to admit it
I wish Erik would just take cues from Arlo and kinda accept that he likes some gay shit and just focus on being funny instead of trying to convince people he's not a faggot all the time

Letlive are an experimental hardcore band, in the same vein as Glassjaw.
Still don't see what all the hype was about though
Waka Flocka live is probably the closest thing you'd get to a metal show.
