SERIOUS QUESTION: Do people actually enjoy live drum solos? When the dude that filled in for Sabbath played his drum solo when I was Black Sabbath I was like fuck this, I paid for riffs. Only drum solos I've enjoyed live are Neil Peart's.
I dont really enjoy live solos in rock and metal in general. Too much wankery and most of them sound the same anyway.
I prefer little changes like drum fills, changed lyrics, etc that arent normally in the song. Jam sessions are pretty cool too. BTBAM did a little jam based of the opening keyboard "riff" on Selkies and it was one of the coolest thing I've seen live.
Same. The 10 minute guitar solo I had to endure while BLS opened for Judas Priest was one of the worst experiences I've had at a show. Fuck Zakk Wylde.
Full band improv is always cool. I'd love to see Joe and Danny of Intronaut improv some jazzy shit.

Motorhead are basically a drum solo, the rest is the bathroom break appropriate time during a concert.
Fill in drummers shouldn't be soloing though.
