I consider Hatebreed hardcore... They're the staple of modern mainstream hardcore. All the hardcore kids in highschool were obsessed with breakdowns. The bands they liked were all shitty "untrve" hardcore bands (not that I'm an expert. I barely listen to hardcore) though.
I personally hate breakdowns. They have to be subtle, and used more like a bridge or outro than an actual forefront part of a song to not get annoyed by them. But even Pantera had breakdowns...
Hatebreed is modern hardcore - and also @ MC, Pantera's breakdowns werent generic shit liek faggot bands like Emmure & Atilla do tho, Pantera had groove & originality which is something modern fucks lack. Hatebreed & Lamb Of God are the only modern bands that actually can do breakdowns correct . FUCK BMTH & the worst band to come out in years the incredibly shitty Of mice and Men

I hate how we have to put every band into a category. But, we do have a core expert on these boards. If sh1ttalker likes them then yes they are core. He only listens to core bands. So, @sh1ttalker is hatebreed brocore?
Pantera did it fine. They're breakdowns weren't obnoxious to me. Some of LoG's are annoying to me though.

breakdowns i songs like Use My 3rd Arm, 5 Minutes Alone, Domination, etc. are the CORRECT unannoying way to do breakdowns, but u gotta admit LOG's breakdowns in liek Laid To Rest & Black Label are awesome tho. Also, id like to send a BIG 'Fuck You' to WQLZ & also 105.7 The Point for one playin that gay ass 'Sleepwalking' song by the stupid scnefag gmo faggots in Bring me the Horizon & also for FUCKING all us over with the pointfest lineup this year,AWFUL bands jsut indie hipster shit, only bands good are The Offspring & QOTSA.
