That actually the only thing they did good. Compared to other festivals, $150 with absolutely nothing else on top was great. We'll worth the money seeing as Metallica themselves are expensive as fuck. Throw in Deftones and RHCP.
I was talking about there shows...last couple times they toured they released like 2 sections for 55 buck but those sell out instantly...the rest is all 80+...fuck that ain't worth it
he does. he ruins the old songs cuz he sounds like a kicked mule now
i bet if they would've quit fucking around and made those shows more metal, the reaction would've been more positive. they just don't get the fact that the "tasteful" people they keep trying to court don't give a shit about them and are prolly even turned off by them playing. but that's who they were trying to appeal to instead of going for their bread-and-butter metalheads. when i think of that surprise set they did of 'kill 'em all', i can't help but wonder how many people in that crowd barely even knew what was going on. whereas if it was a full-on metal event like a mdf, people prolly would've busted a nut
i saw the first one on a day when james hurt his back and couldn't play, so they had members of soad, korn and kid rock come out and sing and play with them. was pretty cool, but would've been 10x better if they had better support
they came back a few months later and played a special show with corrosion of conformity for free. the tickets were labeled "metallica with special guest james hetfield". there was a lottery for tickets and i ended up getting a lot better seats than the previous show

> Half the festival wasnt even metal
> hold it on a fucking island where they have to shuttle people to and from all day because it's the only way.
Gosh, I wonder where the problems started.
