Nah... He can't get in trouble in any way. There are spousal protection laws, where you arent required by law to turn your spouse in when you know they are breaking the law. There is nothing illegal about what Mike did.

Yes... that is the case with Murder as well. You are never required to report or testify against your spouse. You can, but are not required too. However I would like to note a distinction though :
If your Spouse says to you "I am going over to Erik's house and going to shoot him with this 9mm and murder him", and she does that, then if the police can prove you knew about the murder then you could be charged with Accessory to murder. If however your wife comes to you after the fact and says "I fucked up... I got so mad at erik that I shot him in the face with a 9mm." Then you are not required to report, or testify to this, and there is no charges that can be brought against you.
In Mikes case, he isnt required to report or testify (however he can if he wants). And I can't imagine any policeman would think he was an accessory to the crime.

Police: Lanphier teacher allegations still under investigation
A Lanphier teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student has not been arrested, police said Monday.
The State Journal-Register will not be publishing any further information about the allegations until charges have been filed.
Deputy Police Chief Cliff Buscher said there are still many aspects of the case that need to be investigated before sending the case to Sangamon County state's attorney John Milhiser.
A Lanphier High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student should not have been teaching high school students to begin with, according to state teacher certification records.
Jennifer Tyree, 36, was placed on administrative leave Nov. 2, after her husband told Petersburg police that his wife was having an affair with one of her male students. Tyree was arrested Wednesday on a charge of criminal sexual assault. Bond was set at $100,000 Thursday.
Tyree taught English at Lanphier, even though her teaching credentials qualify her to teach only elementary and middle school grades.
Tyree holds an elementary teaching certificate, which allows teachers to teach kindergarten through ninth grade. Teachers must obtain an endorsement in a specific subject to be hired at a middle school or high school. Tyree has endorsements for middle school grades, but not high school.
“The idea is that you’re a content specialist,” said Sangamon County assistant regional superintendent Shannon Fehrholz. “That is where the endorsement comes in.”
Sangamon County regional superintendent Jeff Vose, who oversees and enforces teacher certification in the county, said Tyree needs to obtain an endorsement to teach English – or any subject – in ninth grade, which she does not have. Tyree also taught older grades at Lanphier without obtaining the required secondary certificate.
“An individual that has a K-9 certificate without a ninth grade English endorsement cannot teach at a high school,” Vose said. “And she can’t (teach) above the ninth grade level without additional certification — if she was teaching (upper level) courses, that would be a concern.”
Emergency hire
School district human resources director Alexander Ikejiaku said Tyree was an “emergency hire” two days before the 2012-13 school year began. The vacancy Tyree filled was created late in the summer, when Lanphier received money from a federal school improvement grant, he said.
Tyree was hired on a one-year contract to teach English.
“It happens every year,” said Ikejiaku. “If you cannot find someone that is qualified, you do the best you can to place someone there while you continue to make an effort.”
Ikejiaku said he forwarded Lanphier administrators the names of three to four candidates for the open position, including Tyree, who was chosen by the school.
Ikejiaku said he thought Tyree was a more prudent hire than hiring a substitute teacher or a person with a high school certificate, but without any language arts endorsement. Tyree holds a language arts endorsement for middle school.
“We deal with this all the time when someone up and quits suddenly,” Ikejiaku said. “If you are left in a lurch, you simply scramble to do the best you can.”
Reprimand possible
The Illinois State Board of Education and regional education offices can place schools or districts on “pending recognition” status — essentially a reprimand — if they place teachers in posts they are not fully qualified for and do not work to bring that teacher into compliance, according to Illinois State Board of Education spokesman Matt Vanover.
The status can jeopardize athletics, extracurricular activities and state aid in some cases, Vose said.
Vose said Springfield High School was placed on pending recognition last fall after the district hired a person to teach there who did not have an Illinois teaching certificate.
“That situation has been rectified, and that teacher is now fully certified in that position,” Vose said.
School board president Susan White and vice president Bill Looby said the board was not informed of the SHS action.
“I didn’t know anything about the first incident,” White said. “And I’ve had no official communication from the district explaining the what (Tyree) taught, what grade she taught, and what she was certified to teach.”
Looby said he would like to find out if the situation has occurred elsewhere in the district.
“If she’s not qualified to teach the level she’s teaching, there’s an issue,” Looby said. “We need to look into to it to see if that’s happening anywhere else.”
