LOL ) Why do you say that? And yes... Scotch is my drink of choice but I dont drink it nearly as often as I would like. Here is my favorite bottle for a hundred bucks
i dont know you just seemed like the sort to drink scotch. i was tried it when i was like 16 and hated it. but i'm going to try it again and see if i can acquire the taste for it.
i was looking at the Glennfiddich when i went to the LCBO but they only had the one with the green label, which i'm assuming is cheaper
yeah the green label is their 12 year aged version which is really good as well. You can't compare a glass of that to a glass of something like jack Daniels. In college I lived off of JD on the weekends.... Now I can't touch the stuff. If you are trying to get into scotch I would recommend buying the green label Glennfiddich and then buy a bottle of Drambuie (pic below). One shot of Drambouie + 1 shot of Glennfiddich over some ice or whiskey stones.... and you'll be a scotch drinker for life. Shit is GOOD.
i recently bought a bottle of Talisker 12 year old distillers edition
Talisker is a pretty strong scotch. I thought it had an interesting spiciness with a very noticeable smokey flavor (which I loved). Normally this is one I would steer people away from if they were going to try just one.
JD is gross imo, i dont like bourbon. i'll take crown royal over that. im not interested in mixing it with drambuie, straight on the rocks or gtfo. also i plan on trying more then just the one i bought. its just where i'm starting because no one i know is a scotch drinker to tell me where i should start
any other brands you would recommend? i'm probably going to buy at least 5 different bottles before i decide if scotch is for me or not. price doesnt matter.

well add Glennfiddich to your list. and if you arent interested in mixing two different scotchesw/hiskeys then dont ever try Drambouie. It is much too sweet to drink on it's own IMHO. Mixing a scotch like Glenfiddich with a scotch like Drambouie is great.
But I also like a good scotch on some whiskey stones.

i've had drambuie, its not really a scotch more of a liqueur

I can agree with that... it's a liqueur made from scotch though. I've heard people like to drink it by itself. I am not one of those people )

it's a stone that you put in the freezer... they are the shape of ice cubes and get cold like ice cubes... but when you put them in your whiskey they dont melt like ice cubes and dilute your perfect drink.
