actually Nookie is one of the more meaningful songs they wrote. The underlining message of the song is pretty powerful, but the way it is presented the message is lost on most audience members.

It's true. I wasnt trying to be funny. Okay here it is for those that might have missed it-
At the time of it's popularity people really concentrated on the chorus, which was a pretty shitty chorus because it was basically saying relationships are bullshit, Dont care about anyone, just use girls for sex. However if you listen to the rest of the song you get the full picture- He was totally into this chick... She was everything to him, and he would have done anything for her. And she cheated on him with his best friend and so he is pretty numb to the whole thing... And so he decides to tell himself that it doesnt matter that she cheated on him. That he was just using her for sex so it's not like he cares... And he tells that over and over to himself and all his friends, and he hopes that if he says that enough that he actually might start believing it. And in believing this lie, it will help him cope with the real reality that this bitch just devastated him. He doesnt really think you should use people, nor is that what he is saying... It's just his way of getting over a broken heart.
And there is a lot of wisdom to this approach of getting over a broken heart. When the breakup is near, it's really difficult to put things into perspective and deal with it logically. So you shelve the pain of the broken heart, trying discredit everything you thought you had... And if you can do this, then later in life when time has helped heal those wounds, then you can properly and logically deal with what this person did to you.
I agree this isnt a huge deep concept, however it is one of the most meaningful songs he wrote. I am a supporter of this sort of post breakup pain mitigation.

not currently..... but Yeah I listened to Nu Metal in the late 90's and I didnt hate it back then. I aint a fan now.
Regardless of my feelings for the music now though, doesn't change the fact that I think the message of that song is a good one. I don't know of a better way of dealing with a broken heart that will minimize the duration of the post breakup pain. And this method is not well known at all, so I give him props for making a song about it.
