Yeah, it's fucking weird. They just came in during the baby's first bath and said "code silver", turned the lights off and put up this series of curtains all around us.
We're aight. This is just fucked up because my girlfriend has had a lot of complications. They c-sectioned the baby out early today because her blood pressure was high and they thought she was gonna have a stroke. She's kinda freaking out right now because we can't get to my son so her blood pressure is still on the fritz.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs was put on lockdown Thursday evening after reports of a shooting in a parking area outside the hospital, Channel 2 Action News reported. The lockdown was lifted about 8:30 p.m. Investigators said a man was shot on the second level of a parking deck outside the labor and delivery wing of the hospital, on Johnson Ferry Road just east of Ga. 400. Police told Channel 2 about 8 p.m. that the victim, a man, was still alive, and that the gunman was still at large. No other details were available. One of the visitors who found themselves caught up in the lockdown was state Sen. Charlie Bethel (R-Dalton). "We arrived around 6:30 to visit my brother and sister-in-law – my wife's family had baby today at Northside Women's Center – and as we arrived, there was a disturbance in the parking lot," Bethel told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a phone interview. "As we entered the hospital, we were escorted to an empty patient room with other visitors," he said. Hospital officials, he said, "just asked us to go, close the doors and stay away from the windows." "My brother-in-law upstairs says a nurse told them there apparently was a shooting in the parking lot," Bethel said. "Another family said that as they were beginning to leave, they heard shots and were hurried back into the hospital." The visitors were let out of the room about 8:30 p.m., he said.
