most of us in texas say coke for every type of soda, when some one says would you like me to pick up some cokes and the reply is yes they then ask what kind.
to me coke is a specific beverage, like if i wanted coke i'd say get me coke at the store and if i wanted pepsi i'd say pepsi.... usually if i have a party i say get madd soda.
