I bet none of those are really that scary and the Italians are just pussies and overreacting )
I guess it really depends on how far you take your imagination. Because it's one of those stories that fucks with your head, and if you're a big reader that let's your imagination run wild then it's terrifying.
Well with the music playing in the background and not following the instructions it won't be scary at all :P
my volume was off and regardless of whether I did or not, the story hinting at me letting the devil into my house is not scary at all.
There's more than just having the music off, if you had checked out the website it explains it. Ah damnit, why'd you say that!? Now I know what it's about. [-(
I read it..was gay. I would have felt fucking retarded doing all of the instructions too. If I read it when I was 8 or something it would have been different and way scary

I didn't read it cuz I was debating on whether or not Thirteen was worth buying. Besides that story being a bummer there are 112 other short stories in there (non-interactive) that might've been enjoyable. I do love horror stories.
face it, by twenty years old if a scary story in a book terrifies you your pretty much a giant pussy lol
Then what's the purpose of a horror novel?
exactly
Horror novels are cool though. I guess if you don't have an imagination or think too logically before attempting to read the novel then it won't scare you. The purpose is to scare you and it still works amongst many people.
I guess it depends on if you even like to read or not. And letting your imagination run wild because that's what books do. You're supposed to get a visual image to what you're reading.
I've gotten awesome visual images of HP Lovecraft stories. I finally watch the movies and they just suck ass and ruin the picture in my head of what I think the movie should have been like

They've made movies from his novels? Oh lord that must be terrible. Now that I think of it, I do recall Call of Cthulhu being a movie. Never watched it though. I think he's the king of visual imagery he's incredibly detailed. I think he might've been the first horror novelist.
