They just dont get bands that anyone gives a fuck about. Forget good or bad. Its like they go for the leftovers of all the other tours.
Agreed, but I feel like this year they did it on purpose. If they don't shell out much money for the lineup, then they don't have to sell many tickets to make their money back. I feel like 2012's lineup took a chunk out of their wallet and they're saving up for next year.
As Slap said, I really think A7X is headlining next year. There was an A7X tent there and all they were doing was handing out free A7X bandanas, nothing else. Between bands on the screens they played promos for Hail to the King constantly.
part of it could be that some smaller markets were added this year. 2008 and this year were the only years it went to darien lake, ny right outside buffalo and the next closest was pittsburgh so we went there. 2009-2012 i know sold out in pittsburgh.....idk if that would be enough to offset ticket sales but it definitely did something combined with everything else....
I noticed the lawn area from Ozzfest 04 in a picture taken of me that year. Shit was packed with people, hardly anywhere to sit. Then I looked at the pic I took at Mayhem....ghost town

Most people ignored them.
