Listened to tons of 2012 material this weekend and the only one going in to Top 30 was Hooded Menace, which was really good death/doom. Still have a couple albums I got recently to listen to, none metal though. Listening to new Death Grips right now. Probably not gonna like it as much as The Money Store. The production is really heavy though.
The new Muse is probably going to be on my list. I was scared when I heard Unsustainable but the whole album left me pleasantly surprised. *prepares flame shield*
I'm still split on BTBAM. I really like the record, top 10 for sure, but there are a lot of things I don't like about modern prog that they threw in there that was kind of lame. Like the intro to Astral Body or that dumb circus interlude in Elite Extremophile. Shit is dumb, lolwecanprog

I dig a lot of progressive shit, but don't consider myself an elitist/expert on the subgenre, and BTBAM has always been a heavy lift for me...some of the carnival shit on the new one is silly; I haven't completely absorbed the entire album yet though....
