Just saw this post No i haven't, but since i posted that I've listened to the new Municipal Waste, Tenacious D, High On Fire, Overkill, Meshuggah, Testament and Cannibal corpse.
I have to listen to most of these again, but my friends jizzed over STL and I didn't think a lot of it.
To be honest had I not seen a good bit of it live, I wouldn't be as impressed with it, but after seeing them and then going back for another listen it's easily top 15 for me.
gotta say, the artwork for the new AILD is really underwhelming...I know it's small potatoes, and the MUSIC is great, but c'mon, it's lazy as fuck, a total ripoff of Silence Of The Lambs....
I wanted to ask Tim about the artwork at Mayhem, cause it's the first album to not feature the skull, i know there's one on the new album but it's not the same one they use every album.
it's heavy, and technical (for metalcore) but it seems to be missing the urgency and emotion of An Ocean Between Us....I dig music that contains emotion, without being "emo"...The new record follows The Powerless Rise more than earlier stuff...It's good, but not great....
