It's not my fault it's usually 13 year olds that are hardly in control using them. I'm not saying it to get down on you dayna it's just these people on them are on the verge of falling and causing others problems at all times.

I usuallyfind people on skis annoying. Not all but the ones that go side to side across the entire hill and don't pay attention behind them, fucking hate that.
People who ski can say the same about people who snowboard. I've almost been violently run over by snowboarders who don't pay attention to fucking shit cause they think they own the place.
It's not the responsibility of the one further downhill to look for people uphill (that goes for anyone no matter what they're on), it's the responsibility of the person UPhill to maneuver around the downhill person if they're moving faster, I do it all the time and there is never any problem. So that's a bs complaint.
I agree both do it, it just seems skiers are worse because they go so wide with turns. I used to ski so I understand both sides but when I skied I used short quick turns down a hill not wide ones. I think both have a responsibility to watch out if you cut sideways across a hill you should be looking up to make sure you don't ride in front of someone going fast down the hill. That goes for both I hate boarders that use wide turns too. Just stay in a lane why do people think they own a hill.

I like skiing and I like snowboarding. I only snowboard now but my only issue is almost always with the people on ski blades. It's not like I'm just out there every once And a while and developed an opinion off limited info I got it from dealing with and watching these people ever since they became popular but luckily the fad has died out at least here

But they should at least be aware of people behind them. If I'm bombing a hill straight line why should I have to stop or turn because someone is riding side to side on the whole hill?

why should people enjoying a nice ride down a hill have to worry about some jackass just bombing the hill?
if you're going to bomb the hill then you have to be responsible for avoiding what is in front of you.
if you can't comprehend that then you're just fucking retarded an inconsiderate.
Wow no need to be bitchy about it I was just discussing it with you. If your on a double black you should not be taking a nice slow ride that's dangerous and inconsiderate to the more advanced riders, ski or board. That's what trails are for hill are for speed. If it's a beginner hill then the more experienced rider should be aware and careful but the bigger you go it becomes everyone responsibility, it can get dangerous if not.

    These Step Ins the shit.
    Never had a problem.
Never feel unsafe or unsecure with them either.

That's interesting I never seen them with the backs. I can't use burton anyhow but that's kinda cool.
you fall out of step ins
    chase board down hill
It's called a board leash. Most places won't let you on the hill without one.
I never use a board leash I hate them.
The ones with the backs are good and just as supportive as strap ins. The backless ones I could see why people don't trust them. And there is no getting on any hill without a leash around here, they are all over that shit.
    Pass the god damn butter.

I didn't say down a double black at all. Though, anyone going down those should know to just give a good distance between people who go down.
Don't take the bitchiness personal, it's just how I talk.
That was my point if your on a trail riding slow is expected but the bigger the hill or in the park it becomes everyones responsibility to stay safe. If you can't handle a hill you shouldn't be on it.

but when it comes to a not intense single black diamond or blue square and you have some dickhead mow you over because they think they have the right of way, that is NOT in any way acceptable.
I would say anything bigger than a square everyone should be aware. If you good enough to be on any diamond you should know your area and stay in it.
  • AbbadonAbbadon Posts: 1,990 juggalo
Maybe we're not talking about the same kind of diamonds. MI diamonds are not as intense of Colorado or other actual mountain diamonds and half of the double diamonds we have at our local resorts are always closed because snow won't stick to them.

I'm not saying no one should be aware. Everyone should be aware, I don't argue that, but you can't expect the people downhill to be more aware than the people uphill. That's just common sense.
Not as intense as out there but still pretty big. I don't think more aware if your downhill but least kinda. But if your riding you should be aware and should never run into anyone either.
  • AbbadonAbbadon Posts: 1,990 juggalo
but can you still at least agree that the people who are uphill should be more responsible. the people who are downhill from you are also trying to watch out for people downhill of people so you can't completely blame them if you run into them, you know?
O I agree you should never run right into someone. I think it's Asians that are the worst. Not racist just my opinion.

Downhill people have the right of way, doesn't matter if its the bunny hill or a double black diamond. Ya don't have to like it, its just how it is.

technically dayna is right. the people in front of you have the right away. but it's still extremely annoying trying to avoid a shit load of people at high speeds. sometimes its pretty easy and sometimes its a fuckin' bitch cause you dont always know which way they will turn next. i think thats one of the reasons why i stopped snowboarding. some people, doesn't matter if they're skiers or boarders, go like 2 mph down the hill going from one side of the trail to the next. for a while i was able to find good lanes on the very edges of the trails when i would bomb down the hill but that was kinda short lived cause now some people take up the ENTIRE trail and i didnt feel like doing human slalom anymore. dont get me wrong, i have no problems with skiers whatsoever but it's annoying when they mogul out the trails. it makes it somewhat difficult for a snowboarder to navigate (going straight down, carving, stopping, etc.) on those moguled out trails (im not talking about actual mogul trails). and dayna, you gotta realize that you can't turn as quick on a snowboard than you can on skis.

abbadon, thanks for the info on the gnu's and lib tech's. i remember reading somewhere that boards with alternative camber help you catch less edges. i was just curious if the mange traction on gnu's and lib tech's helped that even more. from what you said about the gnu's, how they deteriorate as the way you described, i'll probably end up going with a Rome or a Burton.

Your welcome, i highly recomend going reverse camber if your getting something new.The lib are fine just the gnu but my boy have the Rome garage rocker and loves it. I heard good things about the Burton reverse that white rides but I'm not sold on the channel thing they have for the bindings. New tech scares me till they get it right.
