yo abbadon, hows the magne traction on your gnu? if i start snowboarding again i need a new board cause the one i have is a Forum Jeremy Jones 157 from 2000 LOL. does the magne traction prevent you from catching edges? i would think so cause of the serrated edges but i've never ridden anything by mervin (gnu or lib tech). the board i have now catches edges like a motherfucker. most of the time i have a hard time keeping a flat base going down the hills. i usually end up lifting up my toes or heels very slightly so i dont catch edges while going straight.

Been sporting them for 3 or 4 seasons now, never once had an issue with them in any terrain. I don't even have to stop once getting off the lift. I can be halfway down the hill by the time everyone else gets strapped in. I get in twice as many runs in a day compared to the rachet straps, 1/3 more runs than when I used to sport Flow bindings. Steps are the shit.
i dont like the step ins. the only time i used them was when i first started snowboarding and i was renting a board from the resort. the little notches had a tendency to get ice in them and you had to chip the ice out of there with a key or something. idk how much they've changed over the years though.

Never had mine ice up on me. I might have to brush it off with my gloves a couple times during the day, but no more than any other binding. There are a few different styles of step ins though. Mine still have the backs on the bindings, and attach on both sides of the boot rather than heel to toe. They lock in super easy too, so I can usually lock them in right when I stand up to get off the lift, it makes for non-stop snowboarding. I will never go back to strap ins.

It is amazing. I don't catch edges really at all, there is always those odd bumps and shit, but that's it. The banana helps too because only some of the board touches the snow. It sticks to the pipe like crazy too. I would recommend one but more so lib tech than gnu. The top layer of mine is chipping off kinda bad and have been told gnu are known for that. The board is still fine just cosmetic damage but still for $600 it shouldn't do that.
Only places I've heard you have to use a lease is out west I can't imagine your hills up north being big enough to warrant that.
Also I got some badass electric goggles for Christmas
Depends where you go new York and Vermont get pretty big. I just got into wearing goggles last year, I hated them but finally found a pair I can deal with that don't fuck up my vision.
I usuallyfind people on skis annoying. Not all but the ones that go side to side across the entire hill and don't pay attention behind them, fucking hate that.
