i dont think i have the same definition as best guitarist as you people

for example tom waits imo is the best vocalist of all time, not because he has the most technically sound voice or can hit higher notes or has more range but because of the character in his voice to me makes it aesthetically pleasing

this is where clapton comes in..he might not be the fastest or he might not shred like eddie van halen but hes got character and writes some of the most memorable leads in popular music
