I also just spoke with my dad about any connection his company has with Merkin Vineyards. As soon as I mention Jerome, he goes "Oh that place that that band member works through? Nah, I personally haven't done business in Jerome in years, but an extension of our company works with them and he goes to some of their thing from what I hear."
that was awesome man...its not very often you get to here him speak in a personal way
@downnola, you met him at Whole Foods or something, right? Or was that Anselmo?
Naw that was Maynard. He did a wine tour with his partner Eric Glomski. Was lucky enough that it came here ^:)^
Yeah, I met him a Whole Foods. But it wasn't while he was touring his wine. It was while Tool was in tour in '07. They had a gig in NOLA that night and the Whole Foods is down the street from the arena. It was just right place at the right time.
Anybody notice that Maynard switched the lyrics in Hooker this past tour? I didn't even realize it until the other day when I was watching some footage.
''I met a boy wearing Vans, 501s, and a dope Slipknot-tee, nipple rings, and new tattoos that claimed that he was OGT, but he was only 12, so how can that be?''
Now I'm confused...just watched a video from my show and the lyrics weren't changed. But I remember watching one of the dates on youtube before mine and noticing he said Slipknot...thought he said at ours...guess not.
"Man, what a score for the Phoenix New Times, huh?
Maynard James Keenan, the singer for Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, has signed on to write a bi-weekly column for the alternative weekly’s “Up On The Sun” blog.
The column will reportedly feature his freewheeling examinations on whatever he feels like writing about, including music and wine.
The column will make its debut online tomorrow.
Tool are said to be working on material for a new record. But who knows how true that even is.
I am looking forward to reading Maynard’s column.
I just think its amazing how everybody’s getting bands to write columns now. Weird."
