That is why I call myself a libertarian, I can see both sides. I don't agree with everything they believe either just closest to my beliefs. I like to think of myself as socially liberal and economically conservative.

This thread was lulzy.
I typically vote libertarian, however my political beliefs are a lot closer to Individualist anarchy as opposed to libertarianism. You see libertarian's subscribe to the philosophy of limited government in ways that are consistent to the form of government that our (USA citizens only) founding fathers instituted. I on the other hand do not believe people need someone ruling over their life to tell them what is moral and how they need to live their life. I believe society itself is the only form of regulation you need. Someone who is infringing on other persons life, liberty, or property will be dealt with by the local community directly. I understand that this society I am describing tends to not be as effective in large super cities that we have now, and is best implemented in smaller tribe sort of societies. Like the Vikings or perhaps the Native Americans. Regardless.... If I had my choice of governments, my choice would be no government because I think people are more then capable enough to take care of themselves. Being realistic, I understand that the idea of 'no government' scares people just as much as the idea of 'no god'. So as a compromise I vote libertarian, or for candidates with libertarian views (like Ron Paul)
I kinda agree. I believe people should be responsible for themselves and I don't think I need a government. The only problem is there are a lot of stupid dependent people who couldn't deal with it or survive. I think the world would be better off without those people, but the masses would never go for it. Like you said to scared. But thats why I vote lib. Closest legit party I agree with. I don't agree with some of there ideas but for the most part I do. I don't agree with their nonviolent approach. If someone fucks with me I take care of it I dont need the help of an authority. That's how it should be.

Are you a reader? If so.... you should read "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". It's a really amazing sci-fiction book that tells a story of a moon society that fights for their independence from Earth, and the sort of government they implement. It's a really fun read and has some very profound political concepts. Anyways, It is a pretty good description of the type of Anarchy I support and how it is viable. Granted this is only fiction, but that doesnt mean that the fiction could one day become a reality.

I'll have to check it out. I read a lot but when I'm in school I mostly read comics because I need a break from serious reading. I might have to read it on break this winter. Author?

Robert Heinlein. Same author of Starship Troopers, however the novel is a billion times better then Starship Troopers. The book won a Hugo award for being the best science fiction in 1967.
