so just curious if any one here is into doing volunteer work?

i used to when i was in my teenage years at the Ronald McDonald house...it was really rewarding and i missed doing it with my aunt...so me and her agreed to go do some work down at the soup kitchen this year! im actually pretty excited about it

Someone told me that I have to get a degree in agriculture and shit, but I bet they are happy to have anyone. They need people to teach HIV and AIDS prevention and sex health in the countries you get sent to, and I'm looking to specifically focus on research in human sexuality anyway, so that would be perfect.

iv always wanted to hit it rich so one of the things i could do would be to open an apartment complex for low income single mothers....that would give discounted rent and bills and what not

I've racked up countless volunteer hours over the years from shit I had to do while at my private schools. Mainly soup kitchen/food bank stuff. Although, I did operate the soundboard at my family's church for a couple years with this other guy. That was pretty fun. We would talk about video games and metal bands while mass was going on )

I used to back when I still went to church. Served food to the homeless, built houses for Habitat for Humanity, raised money for livestock for families/villages in third world countries through Heifer International, etc.

Oh yeah, and I sort of kind of in a way took care of two lambs back in 7th grade. Our school was keeping them in this one area and every weekend, my dad would go up there to fix some stuff at the grotto we bought and I'd feed and pet them for hours.

yeah i did that as well when i was younger....i always liked going to old folks homes when i was in school cause they don't get enough visitors

It was mostly with the shut-ins. Delivering food, raking their lawns, simple things like that but it made them smile like crazy.

yeah most people don't realize how much older people in home and what not don't get enough communication with the outside world...it really makes there day for someone to spend some time with them
