as for comparisons to The Blackiening, imo it will take a while to absorb this album, and then maybe down the road, we can offer a true comparison.....also IMO, the blackening might be the best modern metal release ever, up there with master of puppets....

Master of Puppets was released 25 years ago, far from a modern metal release.

this may surprise some people, but I actually think this album sounds pretty good through the first listen. There are obv some "alright we get it", type songs, but overall I'm impressed.

And FTR, I am not one who thinks that "The Blackening was that great. I thought it had 2 or 3 good songs, but other than that it was boring and repetitive.
