Even if some of it is meaningful, it's still entirely self-centered. It's almost like it's there to fill space, or they can't think of anything else to rap about. At least it's acceptable to have all your songs about the same thing in this here "rap game"

Listening to the wrong Hip Hop then. The lyrics in my sig are from Parade, and they're more of a fuck you to his Dad, rather than simply boasting. He rarely does. Every song on Goblin except for Transylvania, Fish, and Bitch Suck Dick have real meaning way beyond boasting. I could say this about a lot of the Hip Hop I listen to, Tech N9ne, Lupe, Cudi, Pusha T, The Game, Etc.

It doesn't make a huge difference to me that the lyrics are directed at someone, it's still all the same idea. Not dissing the message, just how it is used near incessantly. OF aren't the biggest culprits, but others, including Wiz Khalifa are pretty over the top.
Ok, thanks for explaining. Ill be the first to admit I don't really stay current on a lot of today's rap for obvious reasons. Its good to see your writing is coming together much quicker than it used to, from 2 weeks to write a "freestyle" to being able to write a decent song in 2 hours is pretty impressive.
