he lives on the same island as my cousins. one of them posted a video of a beach that got swallowed up by the tsunami. I don't think there were devastating damages.

Just so you all know it wasnt just one BIG earthquake in japan, there is smaller ones(4.0+) every 20-45 minutes or so STILL happening. and theres been a few in the gulf of california.
that reactor doesn't even need to go into full meltdown for japan to be fucked. even a partial can release enough radiation to turn the surrounding area into the next Chernobyl and unlike Russia, japan doesn't exactly have enough space to allow that to happen

you were referencing this event to be like Chernobyl which its not. my reference is just about Russia having like a 1000x's more land area than japan. Russia can afford to have a large section of its territory uninhabitable. japan can not.
