i heard that the creator of pokemon died in the disasters in Japan... is this true?
A spokesman for the Pokémon Company said all employees, including Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri, are alive and safe following Thursday's tremendous earthquake in Japan, specifically rebutting a widespread rumor that Tajiri had died in the disaster.
"False. Everyone at the Pokemon Company and Gamefreak is fine," spokesman J.C. Smith told Kotaku. He said that power in Tokyo was an issue but everyone is safe and sound.
Kotaku's original report, edited to include the Pokemon Company's statement, follows:
Twitter seized upon a fast-spreading rumor that Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of Pokémon, died in the earthquake and tsunami disaster that struck northeastern Japan on Friday. The rumor, and its counterclaims, had no sources any more authoritative than where they originate: Twitter itself.
Kotaku contacted Nintendo for an official statement and was told Sunday by the Pokémon Company that Tajiri, and all employees, were safe and sound following the quake.
The rumor seemed to originate yesterday evening U.S. time from a single user, spreading quickly from there. Others on Twitter, such as PokeFacts, sought to debunk it, saying "Nintendo confirmed its fake."
That seems to reference this tweet from Nintendo of America's official account, which was a general statement that the company's Japanese headquarters and employees were not hurt in the quake. Nintendo's Japan headquarters are in Kyoto, some 300 miles from Sendai, the disaster scene. Another site claimed that Tajiri fainted from the sight of the destruction but is alive and well at his home in Tokyo. Discussion Threads Featured All Start a new thread

sweet! Couldn't one give a masterball to a pokemon to "hold" and then trade that pokemon with another trainer, and then that trainer would acquire an additional masterball?
Who do you talk to to get the masterball? Is it out of the way? or unavoidable?
^^^ They get such little experience that it's not worth it. I had a Lucky Egg on my lead Pokemon, and then 2 Exp. Shares on 2 other Pokemon and they didn't get shit. Dividing it between 6 will be even worse.
There is actually something funky going on with this combo.... Right now my main pokemon are around level 45. If I use one experience share and one lucky egg and beat some guy (I'm bad with names cause I am not really into this) I will get say 400 up'd experience points because of the lucky egg, and the experience share gets me like 200 to the other pokemon.
Anyways, If I use two experience shares except give one of them to a really shitty like level 5 pokemon and then I beat the exact same guy above... then my main pokemon gets like 1400 up'd experience points and the level 5 gets like 1600 experience points (because he is so weak) and then my other pokemon gets like 400 experience points.
I can't figure out what is happening here... but it seems if I keep a shitty pokemon in my party, then all the rest benefit from that.
Any idea why this is or what I am talking about?
i got so mad at the lack of knowledge erik had that i skipped the thread so sorry if this was answered
in black and white exp gain is influenced by level if your lower then the level you defeated youll get more and if your higher then the level defeated youll get less so if your level 5 and you beat a level five youll get lets say 200exp if you beat a level ten youd get 2000 and a level 1 ud get 20 it works like that kinda
yeah you can do that, thats oldschool, lol. you need to talk to professor juniper n she'll give it to you as a gift. iunno if it happens automatically, i havnt made it that far.

in black and white you get the first masterball when you start to head for the elite 4 and the second you get when you trade 50 times a guy in a pokecenter gives it to you

Okay... so in my case I had a level 45 holding a "lucky egg" beat a level 40 so normally that wouldnt get me much... However I had a level 5 holding an "experience share" and so the game treated that like a level 5 beating a level 40 and thus gave it mass experience points which somehow feeds back to the original pokemon holding the "lucky egg" that fought the battle?

I cant wait until I get the masterball... I am going to let my pokemon hold it and then trade it to my white copy. I'll do that a few times and have a stock of masterballs. I wonder how many I should get? hmmm.....
