My interview with Jeff from Enabler is probably one of the more interesting ones I've ever done, the dude went off on a rant about At The Gates and Meshuggah rip-off bands.
He's absolutely spot on. That's one of the best, most honest and articulate interviews I've read in a while
He actually wanted to keep going, but as he was answering that last question, security bust through the back door and threw this guy out, and then a fight started and whatnot. They broke a car window and whatnot as well.
But yeah, he was insanely cool to talk too. I interviewed Gary from EHG, and he was absolutely hilarious, and absolutely hammered out of his mind. Working on that interview now.
It's hard to believe they have the same drummer as Fall Out Boy
Wait.... Andy Hurley?
I mean I knew he was in hardcore bands, but I never fucking knew that was him. It's kinda weird thinking about that, because he was fucking ridiculous filling in for Ringworm.

I know he was in Enabler at one point. I'm assuming that's still him
Almost makes me wonder if FOB were a big joke cuz they're awful
I tried it once. Me and my brother and best friend went to a radio festival in like 2001 or so. They had a locals stage there and all the bands were awful, but had mad girls swooning. I was like "we could do this", so we wrote a bunch of pop songs and started promoting it. We sounded kinda like Weezer and GetUp Kids. It was just too hard to focus on it and we never found a singer that really understood what we were doing. Me and my friend were playing in a metal band concurrently and my brother played in a hardcore group. We were all more dedicated to our other projects cuz they were more our style. Eventually we just stopped fucking with it. I gotta say though, getting gigs and pussy with that band was so much easier than any other group I ever played in
dude makes bank and feeds his kids off fall out boy, does what he really wants to in enabler... enabler fuckin rules hellz to me and prolly yous, but theyll never be mainstream.. if i had a chance to play bass in fallout boy, id do it in a sec lol
Comments
yeah enabler and ringworm rule hellz
still pissed I missed that show.. Wasn't in the area
Anything specific? Heavier? Faster? Noisier?
I'm into like the noisier/sludgier hardcore, the more melodic hardcore, and the more emo stuff.
Melodic - Descendants & All (same band, different singers)
Emo - Fugazi
Sludgy/Noisy - Today is the Day 'In the Eyes of God' has Bill and Brann on it from before Mastodon

Yeah its crazy to think that Fall Out Boy is just a couple metal and hardcore dudes

I feel like FOB is only still a thing so they can afford to do their own metal/hardcore projects.
