No. Bitches gonna bitch, it's a great album and I can't wait to hear them play stuff off it next month.

Yes. A lot of it I just found to be boring. Devils Orchard and Famine were the only songs I found to have value. Slither was decent too. But even the best song on Heritage was a piece of crap compared to the worst on Deliverance or Morningrise.

I don't want old people music when I listen to Opeth, Jay.

    Duh.
  • MenAreTrashMenAreTrash Posts: 27,667 spicy boy
And I don't know if you'll find any solace in this, Jay, but I wouldn't have liked the record had it been any other band. I don't dislike it because it's Opeth doing something that isn't what I want from them, I really just don't like the album.

Well, it makes me feel better that you're not an Opeth purist who's going to go to one of the shows on this tour and be totally disappointed because they play these songs. I went over to metalsetlists to read a review of one of the shows and the amount of bitching just made me go <_>.

Well, I would've bitched had I already bought a ticket because I don't like that material. But I'm going to Foo Fighters the day before, so I already couldn't go.

Foo Fighters = one of the best shows you'll see all year.

Perhaps. I've still got Priest, Mastodon and BTBAM left to go. And I've seen some awesome acts already. Protest the Hero, Symphony X, Giant Squid, Cormorant, Soundgarden, Red Fang, Yob, Dispirit are all bands I'd give a 9/10 or higher.

If Foo Fighters don't earn at least a 9/10, I don't know what to say to you. They give you your money's worth in every way possible.

Yeah, like 4. And the 2 I heard were very disappointing. Not heavy at all.

I wouldn't doubt it. I can see them being a 9/10, but I'll probably prefer all of the other 9/10's. :P
