I should have got a Samsung. Dumb decision on my part. And if I would have known beforehand that the Evo's usb charge port tends to loosen from the motherboard...causing crazy charging problems...I would have never considered getting this phone.

idk if mine is considered a "smart phone" but its an LG DARE and its never given my any problems
you should probably look into switching to a service with better quality phones

I've come to the conclusion that all smart phones are flawed and have issues. I've never had any problems with any Sony Ericsson, Samsung, or any normal phone.
