Yeah Trivium doesnt sound like Metallica, except for a few songs on the crusade, an some of his choruses on ascendancy reminds you of a melodic James Hetfield but thats about it.
And Shattering the skies Above sounds nothing even close to Metallica which is the only song they have made with the new drummer thus far, if anything they are moving in a more groovecore direction with thrash influence.

That song is definitely one of my favorite Trivium songs. If the new album is like that then it will be a really great album. I really like the new drummer

Yeah ive listened to that prolly more than any other Trivium song. Prolly my top 5 would go.
1. Throes of Perdition 2. A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation 3. Shattering the Skies Above 4. Blinding Tears will Break the Skies 5. Becoming the Dragon
I liked Trivium when they played Ozzfest 2005, but when they played Mayhem, I thought they were lame. Which means their early stuff was cool, now they're just going downhill.
can we talk about the atrocious sepultura cover they did?
There might be a Death cover on there next album, so you got another one to rag on, but I thought the sepultura cover was excellent.
I'd like to hear it. I doubt I'll like it very much but I'd like to see their take on it
1. Throes of Perdition 2. Shattering the Skies Above 3. Down From the Sky 4. Into the Mouth of Hell We March 5. Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr

Really because they have about the same momentum they had coming off Shogun as they had coming off ascendancy, they dropped the ball on the crusade which set them back, they pretty much guaranteed that this is gonna be there defining album, if its not there master of puppets, its gonna be a disappointment, so we will see.

Even more defining than Shogun? Or is this sort of like Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning being awesome but Master of Puppets being the album that really did it for Metallica?
