yes they have alot of similaritites to Pantera, but they also bring the element of hardcore to their music, it's is their own style, but you can tell they were influenced heavily by PANTERAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Plus they're straight edge and that influences their vocals, Pantera was nowhere near clean and sober. lol. Throwdown started out a hardcore band and evolved into a groove metal band. I like them then, and I like them now!
Theyre not really hardcore anymore. they still have slight hardcore influence on their music, but theyre a groove metal band now. their first 4 albums are straight up hardcore, but they evolved since then into a metal band. but either way, it would be awesome to see them at teh mayhemz!
