My one man grindcore band, Autopsy On The Horizon, will be releasing a 6 track split with another grindcore band from Rockville, MD by the name of Ampallang Infection right around August. It's being done for free and will more than likely be printed on 7" vinyl.
STONE SOUR will release its fourth album in October via Roadrunner Records. The band has yet to reveal the title of the new CD, which is being recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of their native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE, STAIND).
Fight Amp are currently hard at work completing their third fulllength entitled "Birth Control" for Translation Loss Records. "Birth Control" is being engineered by Steve Poponi at Gradwell Studios and for the first time, the band is recording completely to 2" tape. "Birth Control" will see a late summer release and feature 8 new songs with over 40 minutes worth of new material.
Swedish progressive/post-metal band Cult of Luna recently revealed that they have finished writing their next album, and in fact recorded roughly half the effort. Recording sessions for the remaining half begin today. According to the band, "The process has been long, with the earliest writing sessions dating back more than 2 years."
Bay Area thrash titans TESTAMENT have revealed the cover art and details for their upcoming Dark Roots of Earth release! Artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor who has worked with such bands as SODOM, ATHEIST, SIGH. Dark Roots of Earth was produced, mixed and mastered once again by the world renowned Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, ACCEPT, EXODUS). Special bonus tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga (CATTLE DECAPITATION, HEATHEN, VILE, SADUS) at his Trident Studios. The highly anticipated follow up to their 2008 release The Formation of Damnation will be released on July 27, 2012 (Europe) and July 31, 2012 (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.
