Nope, no troll. You seriously think they have a legit chance next year? Really? You realize Gonzalez is going to retire right? And you think your team is going to be better without him? You wouldnt have even made it to the conference finals without him.
Sure... The Falcons can totally get back to the playoffs. Just don't see it going further then it went this year unless they fill some big gaps.
It was the perfect setting for them this year. Easiest schedule in the NFL, the Saints being all fucked up from the suspensions, etc. going up against essentially two rookie QB's in the playoffs. This was their year if they were going to have a year.

Absolutely 100% disagree with the falcons posts. They have a window open for the next 3 years at least. Agree that they need a standout front 7 player and a better runner than Turner. I think Rodgers is great, but I think they need a timeshare.
With Nolan heading up that D, the sky is the limit for them. They're going to be well coached, and if they get deeper across the board, watch out.
The Falcons aren't going anywhere. Gonzalez was good, but he wasn't the second coming of Jerry Rice. They can find another tight end and they have the best receiver combo in the league with White and Jones. Like Wine said, replace Turner and that offense is even more dynamic. Don't forget that they could get Grimes back next year if they resign him too.
I didn't say that Atlanta can't be contender, but the #1 again might be unlikely. EVERYTHING fell their way this year.
yeah. I didnt either. Only said this year was their best shot at it... They arent going to get a season more gift wrapped then this one was. Like CF mentioned- N.O. not being a contender due to that whole thing, easy schedule, two rookie QB's... If that isnt a ideal gift wrapped season for the Falcons, I don't know what is. And if anyone thinks the Saints arent going to be a contender next year, GTFO.

Did anyone see them not being a contender this year? Yet they lost. A lot. That defense was all-time bad, and Brees is excellent, capable of leading a team to a championship, but not a team that devoid of talent. Will they win? Probably, but they are going to pretend instead of contend for a while.

Perennial contender in the NFC, in my opinion.
