Did you watch that Thursday morning game? Suh was in Schaub face every down. Houston did nothing with stopping Suh from getting in that backfield.
Suh probably has one game like that for every 5 or 6 that involves him just getting whammed and bait blocked EVERYWHERE in the run game. One of the big reasons that the Lions are #22 (even that's a little bit high for them) in run and gives up 4.6 yards per rush is Suh. At least Fairley's been playing a lot better for them. Doesn't make Suh a top 5 DT though, in my opinion.
When you take out the two defensive touchdowns, they scored 17 points against that defense. Good? Sure. Convincing? Not as impressive as the Bears game to be sure.
Absolutely, but I am confident that the 49ers win that game even without those two pick sixes. Once the 49ers had that 2 TD lead, Kaepernick wasn't supposed to dazzle anyone. He's supposed to win, and he did a damn good job of keeping the win in the bag.
We are going to need defensive linemen though. Avril, Jackson, Williams, and Young are free agents along with Houston, Levy, Delmas, and Durant. The defense is going to look very different next year because there is no way all of them come back, nor should they.
Dee Milner. Know it.
Also, I would shit my pants laughing if they drafted another first round DT or DE. Absolutely would not be able to handle it.
Don't know how a Lions fan could live with themselves if they resigned Avril or Vanden Bosch and let Willie Young go.
They love Willie Young. Even though he's not achieved up to expectations, there's no way they let him leave. It will be a lot easier to see Avril walk after his performance this year, and though I'm worried that they will want to keep Vanden Bosch, my guess is he's gone.
Right now, the Lions probably aren't high enough in the draft to get Milliner. He's probably a top-5 prospect, though it's too early to definitively make those assertions.

I don't really see a scenario where he goes top 5, honestly. Way too much DE, DT and a few top end OT talents, as well as the always present overdrafting of QB's could lead to Milliner going mid round. I think that's around the Lions wheelhouse. Looking at the teams who seem to be drafting high, they want either front 7 talent or OL talent. Could see Milliner going around Dre Kirkpatrick territory just because of all the defensive talent in front of him.
Unless someone loves him, I see all of the following going ahead of Milliner as of right now.
Jarvis Jones Star Lotulelei Damontre Moore Barkevious Mingo Sam Montgomery Geno Smith Jonathan Hankins Luke Joeckel Maybe Bjoern Werner
SUH gets as many double teams as anyone in the league...
suh has 20 tackles and 4.5 sacks this year
jj watt has 54 tackles and 14.5 sacks
i know watt is a special case, but it's hard to believe he doesn't get double-teamed as much as suh. he also plays in a defense where he shouldn't even be the one stacking up stats. in 3-4 defenses, the outside linebackers typically get the sacks. suh had a similar year last year as well. he's starting to run out of excuses
if jarvis can stay healthy, he'll be a hall-of-famer. watching him play is insane. he's all over the place, knocking balls down, qbs down, rbs down, getting interceptions.he just might get hurt too much to establish himself as elite down the line

Like him just as much as I liked Von Miller when it came to the 2011 Draft. He's done everything Miller has against better opposition, even if I think Jones is a little less of a pure pass rusher.

Cam Newton: Michael Vick and I have a rare skill set that is a gift and a curse
“The skill set that I have and the skill set that he has is kind of rare, especially in this league, but it’s your gift and your curse,” Newton told the Charlotte Observer. “Sometimes it can get you out of a lot of trouble. Sometimes it can put you in trouble if you lean on it too much.”
Fucking tired of this narcissistic asshole already and he's not even done with his second year.
