Honestly I'd look at it like this; at least the animals are being eaten by someone who really appreciates them rather than some asshole who doesn't care.
TUPAC IS DEAD/THE LEGEND IS GONE/THEY SAYIN TUPAC'S BACK?/DEM NIGGAS WRONG
I bet the cow would want you to eat it. If we follow Socrates thoughts and teachings, the cow would be following it's virtue by being killed and eaten therefore creating a harmonious polis. Everything to serve the polis. That is what the cow is doing.

the cow wouldnt want to be salughtered inhumanely...
Being humane is something really fishy to me. We slaughter cows for food, some consider aspects of that to be "inhumane." Being humane is just a human construct, something we imagined. If slaughtering animals is "inhumane," then why aren't other things just as poor considered to be "inhumane?" When a spider crawls in your bedroom, and you kill it, why is that humane? If a fly is bothering you, and you slap it away, eventually killing it, is that not "inhumane?"

Either way the cow is serving the polis righteously by committing to it's virtues so it should want to die
