I find it awesome and highly amusing that this picture is pissing so many people off
This doesn't really piss me off but I can def see why it would a veteran. You can't compare your right to have something legal on a piece of paper to sacrificing your life. Pic is kinda fucked up.
What makes this picture so much different to the other takes on it? If vets get pissed because this one is obviously geared toward gays and the final legalization of marraige then, imo, they have more problems than I thought they had. And gays have been killed simply for coming out and being who they are. So if you look at the whole gay picture, people have died in hopes of future acceptance of who they truly are. This was another obstacle to overcome and it shouldn't have taken this long imo. And here's other takes on the picture
You cant blame soldiers for the wrongs of our leaders.
I see where you're coming from with this. You have the thought that they're just following orders, it's what they have no choice but to do. People join one of the branches of military for many various reasons. But a lot of members here are so anti-gov/anti-cops/anti-autority that everyone is at fault. A lot of people I know that have served didn't agree with a lot of wtf happened while they were in there. Some of them even got out because of it.
But, aaaannyyywaayyyy, I hate this subject. It always causes an argument where everyone loses
The reason it's fucked up is because it's comparing gays struggle to sign a piece of paper to the struggles veterans went through for other people freedoms and lives in Ww2. they aren't even comparable.
being 1/2 way around the world fighting tooth and nail for your life and the others lives around you does not compare to being legally bound to someone.
Concrsquences of war = death, and if you survive there is a high chance of suicide.
Concequences or no gay marrige= not being able to legally confess your love in a legal manner.
I'll say one thing cuz I do t feel like arguing with mental midgets today Like they said on games of thrones this season, everyone always has a choice, the notion that a soldier has to follow orders for someone regardless of their ow integrity and philosophy is asinine
They'd be upset because they don't put themselves in the other peoples shoes.. It easy to be upset when you don't expand your Mind in ways that see other peoples perspectives and struggles

Well to be fair a lot of soldiers are brainwashed during boot camp. To further that a lot of soldiers come from broken family's and are just looking for something to be attached to.

so would Ed
That would make their lives hell. On top of that it sends a message to other countries that we dont have our shit together.
