Our society is fucked either way, so what do I care. Although I agree raising minimum wage will just increase the base price of everything. Really the biggest losers in the situation are those that started working in the last few years- Have just started to climb out of minimum wage only to find they are now making the same as someone who just started. And the minimum wage workers like erik are like "kick ass Ill be able to buy so much now" except the price of everything just went up to support the new wage hike and you wont be able to purchase more than you can now.
If someone in society really wanted to do something to save it before it implodes in on itself, they would be looking at ways to solve the wealth gaps between top 1%. Rich white republicans always like to say wealth flows down, but it doesnt.

Here's whats wrong with raising the mimimum wage:
The rest of the jobs wages dont increase, and the cost of living goes up. Sure its nice if you're working a dead end Dunkin Donuts job, but the skilled workers get hit. Instead of raising the minimum wage, they should encourage education and lower taxes. Working McDonalds is a job designed for high school kids who need spending money or are raising a little money for college. Its not designed for people to raise a family off of. What you do when you increase the wages, you're effectively turning those jobs into life careers. This hurts educated and skilled jobs, as well as eliminates a teen work force. All while raising the cost of living.
Interestingly the minimum wage in Tennessee is only $7.25, but there is no income tax.

i know now there is a lot of people and a lot of poverty but I didn't expect it to be that low.
