I went to a Fire and Ice last year with a school group on college student night so it was packed, probably over 1k people. The jukebox was being ignored so I went over and played the heaviest thing I could find, which was Rage Against the Machine. Even something as light as that went over like a wet blanket lol
I was at this Hookah bar and the dude was playing a bunch of Drake back to back. Maybe like 20 people sitting there. He was pretty stuck on the Drake set list so after about an hour of it, I asked if I could play a song. I'm there often enough to where the dude agreed. Played Strength Beyond Strength (Pantera) and every single black dude dipped within 3 seconds. Left two arabs who were looking pissed, me and the 5 or 6 people that were with me and a couple others. So I came back and sat down and this one guy asked "Is he taking song requests?" I said I could suggest whatever he wanted me to play as my own since I kinda knew the guy. I thought he was enjoying the Pantera and was going to ask for something similar when suddenly he goes "Have you ever heard of Babymetal?" ) took me by surprise.
