That was pretty creepy. Have you actually been thru it? I found the creepiest part inside to be when they take you into the maximum security wheel room. Fucking terrifying. I'm trying to convince my friends to go with me on the 29th.
A jail turned into a haunted house. We have one of those as well.
The haunters are allowed to touch you, which is why you need to sign a waiver.
Exactly. Also, they give you a big lecture about heart attacks and shit. While I was waiting in line to get in, this one dude that was dressed as sort of a cross between Tarzan and a lion, hopped onto of a port-a-potty that was being used and started banging on it and shaking it...all we heard were screams inside. It was hilarious. There was also another dude that was dressed as a bush that would jump out at people and this one really creepy guy on stilts kept following my friends and I. They also heard you in the courtyard in really tight lines and make you watch an awesome video. It was well worth it. The only cheesy-bad part was inside they made the kitchen psychedelic looking. I'm not sure how it is this year, since I went senior year.
I want to go to that :-O
It isn't voted one of the scariest basically every year for nothing. I'd love to work there too, but I'm too far away now.
I remember seeing that Travel Channel special on haunted houses and that was high ranking but not the scariest according to them. I'll try and find the special on the internet and find out which was the scariest.
for Halloween....always listen to King Diamonds Conspiracy CD in its entirety, and i watched the movie Trick or Treat (80's version) every year until my son was born. Now i watch Garfields Halloween every year
Yeah, it really is that scary. Totally worth the price you pay. I'd love to do the VIP After Hours tour where they give you a flashlight and let you loose inside, but that's WAY too much money.

What types of things make it scary?
Did you watch the second video I posted? They rely heavily on more realistic scares, like people dresses up at prisoners and the actual setting of the jail to scare the shit out of you. It's hard to explain why it's that damn scary, it's just something you got to go through to experience. I don't scare easily and it scared the hell out of me. My friends and I went through it in a huddle and now none of my friends are brave enough to go with me this year.
