Seriously in my opinion the best songlist for any rhythm game yet, 3 Rolling Stones songs is overkill but Titus Andronicus, Muse, Best Coast, and Sigur Ros make up for that by a lot.
I'm also going to say that the Jarvis Cocker and Rapscallions songs are very fun. I'm currently learning the rhythm guitar part to Higher Ground, and I almost have the main riff down.
Also if I read it right all the songs on disc are soon to be upgraded with bass parts with a patch coming sometime this month, and also the developers at Rocksmith said they recently went back and reasked some of the bands that initially declined to be part of the game and got a few to say yes, that is probably where the Megadeth came from. Rumor is some pretty big names are coming soon, which is good news for me as a person who loves his rhythm games.
Well, ya most of the game its indie, but it is good beginner music. Working up to Sweet Home Alabama and such is going to take a bit of a learning curve. And indie bands likely were easy to license and therefore less of a waste in case the game did badly, also easier to chart into the game and therefore less expensive and less time spent on that, now with the good product they offer they can get the bigger name bands and harder songs and take more risks because they have the product down, now they can see what works and what doesn't.
