So I sat down today and listened to most of the suggestions in this thread. I took the notepad I wrote all the bands on, and decided I was going to put a strike next to any bands that caught my attention, and I would post about them here. 4 hours later, I look down to see nearly all of the 25+ bands to have a strike next to their name.
Bands I fucking loved were Isis, Kylesa, Baroness, Abominable Iron Sloth, Russian Circles, Sleep (how have I never heard of these guys?), Struck By Lightning, Buzzoven, Howl, Ne Obliviscaris, Crowbar, and The Ocean
Other ones that I thought were good were Intronaut (they satisfied my need for slow, chunky riffs that werent breakdowns) Black Tusk, Mouth Of The Architect, Cult Of Luna, and Bison BC
Ironically I didnt like Neurosis, Eyehategod, or Black Cobra too much.

Well, it's not too surprising. I mean, Neurosis isn't your traditional sludge band, even though they often are branded as so, and Black Cobra isn't too dynamic. I love both bands, but it's not shocking.
