Transferring Music

Hey I need some help transferring my music from my old computer to my new mac computer. does anyone have experience with this? i have like 10k songs and i don't want to reset it.

I have a big external for back-ups in my basement but that's for my whole family so I want to get my own once I have the money to do so.

How exactly does this work?

IN ITUNES SET YOUR IPOD TO BE USED AS A DISK
THEN IN YOUR FOLDER OPTIONS GO TO THE VEIW TAB AND ENABLE SHOW HIDDEN FILES
THEN ACCESS YOUR IPOD FROM MY COMPUTER FIND THE MUSIC FOLDER AND VERIFY THAT IT IS THE SAME SIZE AS THE SPACE THAT YOUR MUSIC TAKES UP ON THE IPOD
THEN COPY THAT FOLDER TO YOUR DESK TOP (THE FILES INSIDE OF THIS FOLDER WILL MAKE NO LOGICAL SENCE TO YOU BUT ITUNES WILL UNDERSTAND THE INFO)
THEN OPEN ITUNES AND FILE ADD FOLDER TO LIBERTY AND CLICK ON COPIED FOLDER
MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO SET ITUNES TO COPY NEW MUSIC TO ITUNES MUSIC FOLDER AND LET ITUNES ORGANIZE YOUR MUSIC

Flash drives are amazing..but i keep my music backed up on a TB external...cant find a flash drive that will hold all my music and ill probably lose the flash drive. lol

how exactly do you change it to disk mode

If you have a iPod touch, you cant put it into disk because its a flash memory unit.

my only issue is i dont have a desk for my laptop.

When i get my own place ill get a desk..then ill get a second TB drive.
