Find another job man. Don’t put up with that bullshit. Start looking
last July the director of engineering came into my office.... > we had changes in bonus system > blah blah blah > not personal but business decision > we really value you > but we are taking away your bonus from your compensation
i looked him him in the eye and said > If you believe I am compensated fairly without that bonus then you have made a great business decision > your business decision will cause me to make the business decision to see what else is out there > if I put in my 2 weeks it won’t be personal but a business decision
he responded “if that happens hopefully you will let us counter”
1 month later I walk in his office > I’m here to put in my 2 weeks notice > can we match the offer you received > absolutely. Here is my offer letter > “fuck. Can’t touch that” > bye Felicia
Pretty sure the only way I can get paid more in my area is if I quit smoking weed and go work for the papermill.
Nah man what you need to be doing is figuring out how you do what you do as your own private business. Unless I’ve misunderstood what you do, it sounds like there is a shortage of people doing your thing there and you already have the contacts. Save up a little, buy what you need to, and work for yourself

I will never forget that high level director saying “fuck. We can’t touch that”. It just felt so good.

I can appreciate not wanting to steal business from someone who has done you right. Just know that you are making him a lot of money and when your times comes to do it on your own then that’s when you will be making a lot more

That’s how it always is in every business. You either work for someone and make them rich, or you work for yourself and take on the risk of gaps in work.
Got another raise (yay!), but only to training level 1. (Boo!) Once that change gets put into the system, they have to then submit the paperwork for the level adjustments and wait for those to get signed off on. The corporate bureaucracy is real.
Should be a 30% increase by the time it's all said and done, with the roadmap in place on how to go up even more.

Not bad.
You just end up with a slightly bigger poor house lol. This deal took so long to push through that now I will need to make car payments again.
