I mean, reddit just replaced the need for induvidual message board sites. Its all centralized now. You want to talk doom metal? /r/doommetal. Xbox video games? /r/xbox. Bitch about the Atlanta Hawks? /r/hawks. See tiny chicks with big breasts? /r/bustypetite. Porn in high def at 60 frames per second? /r/60fpsporn
Getting old sucks. Didn't dig either of those really
Gone is Gone is pretty much exactly what I expected. I was hoping for more from GTO. It's a shame Eric Avery didn't record with them, because his Jane's bass lines are classics. I feel you about the getting old thing. The worst is that there isn't really much of a new guard of bands to replace them. Even the wave of bands that followed Mastodon/Isis/HoF like Kylesa and The Sword and such are all aging, too. Nothings really come along to replace or update that. Not as a movement anyways. Everything is kinda derivative now. Even the stuff I dig. The kids that used to gravitate towards metal and hardcore are being re-routed towards noisy EDM and hip hop. We may be witnessing the endtimes

Yeah. It's just that by the time I ever fucked with Reddit, it was already kinda passe. Everyone kinda makes fun of old people on Reddit, so I never had much interest in navigating it
Thats what I did for awhile. I didnt really understsnd how the site worked but I knew there was a reddit for everything so Id occasionally go to pages for tv shows I like or something. Then I found a reddit dedicated to collecting flashlights. I had no idea anybody, let alone a whole community of people took flashlights to such a serious extent. People who would count down the days until the release of a new model flashlight. It really put the saying "one in a million" into perspective. In the 80s, some dude in Omaha thought he was the only guy in the world that fucking loved all things flashlight related. Now it's easy to find a culture of people around the world that love the exact same thing.
I saw r/ohcumon on a sub with the description "can you take the challenge?"
I was intrigued so I clicked. It was literally guys challenging each other to cum on various things. One thread would be "cum on a poster" and there would be 17 images of different end results.
Thats when I called it a day. It was like finding that weird part of YouTube.
