I haven't listened to all of Yeezus, but so far, it's fucking garbage. Really disappointed.
Couple first thoughts.
1: A happy, non-depressed Kanye that's in a happy relationship and bout to have a kid makes garbage music. What made Kanye so goat from The College Dropout all the way to MBDTF was his pain and raw emotion in his music. This is nothing but bragging and rambling really. Which I don't mind, braggadocio doesn't bother me at all in Hip Hop, but this all just seems really lazy. And the songs themselves sound like jam sessions and have like no structure, he goes off on these weird ass random ambient tangents.
2: Yeezy has officially lost his mind. Again, what made him so goat was that he kept pushing the envelope, kept pushing the boundaries of what Hip Hop was capable of, and sounded like a different artist on every album. And while Yeezus accomplishes all 3 of these feats and is unlike any Hip Hop I've heard before, the main difference this time around is it doesn't at all sound like natural progression and evolution as an artist, it sounds forced as if to simply try a new sound yet again, and I ain't fucking wit it at all.
Oh well. Maybe it'll grow on me after a few listens, but I don't know. Such a disappointment. Doesn't matter, Kiss Land is gonna be AOTY anyways.

"But not everyone's a fan of the extra zest. A nonprofit group, the faith-based organization One Million Moms (the same group behind a failed boycott of JCPenney and its openly gay spokeswoman Ellen DeGeneres), doesn’t exactly approve"

Not surprised by this at all. I was surprised Ed seems to be loving it more than I am.

You know this isn't a feminist group, right?
