"advantage of the (near) INFINITE energy provided by the sun."
The science behind solar energy is a bit different, so the technology isn't quite there yet. But I'm with you. It's weird we haven't gotten the clue yet.
"The Oil companies own too much of Washington for a push towards alternative fuels to succeed."
You'd be surprised, the momentum has been increasing ever so slightly. I'll see an oil-less America before I die.
"In one second, our sun produces enough energy for almost 500,000 years of the current needs of our so-called civilization. If only we could collect it all and use it!"
Actually I thought I saw somewhere that we're only supposed to live here a few hundred million years if we make it that long. I dont see billions happening.

We'll probably be dead before we hit stage 5, but those little impacts can drastically change our climate.

and how did that quote go? "The sun produces as much energy in a few minutes than humanity has ever used".
.... something along those lines.
It's changing every minute. It's slowly getting bigger.

I think what he's hinting as is that we will all be dead before we hit stage 8 or 9, boss.
