all chiptune bands do that's what chiptune is. it's not just the 8-bit sounds, if it wasn't made with a gameboy it's not chiptune

8-Bit Weapon doesnt use Gameboys. They use synths, and other pre-Gameboy consoles.

i'm not a gamer anymore but i used to be about it one of my favorite bands in high school was Powerglove I played Mario Minor at a talent show one time. I listened to cihptune for a hot second but I got bored with it. And I feel like most people who do it in rock music use it as a crutch like just arpeggiating the chords cuz you can't write a good melody it's dumb.
