Went to this dudes house. Me and two other's were supposed to jam. The other two are roommates. One dude spent like 4 hours looking at and fucking with my multieffect pedal, and the other guy spent the time sitting on his computer showing me/working on all this solo music he does. Dude is like a Devin Townsend type, plays every instrument, in every style of music His recordings actually sounded really good, especially for bedroom/laptop recordings.
We didn't do any actual jamming. No writing. We briefly talked about what we'd want a band to sound like. It was really discouraging.
Well if you're gonna be working with the guy, you might as well hear what he's doing. Maybe next time you'll actually jam. If not, then you're probably wasting your time. Also, how you spend that much time on a multi effects pedal? They're not really that cool.
He just kept fucking with the settings on it. Messing around with different amp and pedal combinations built in, and EQ/Compression settings. And he spent a lot of time messing with the loop settings.

He decided he wanted one when he was done.
I mean if your multi effects has tons of amp settings and shit too I can see it, but I just think a lot of the sounds on most multi effects are kinda flat. What do you got, MC?

As for flat sound, I agree when compared to analog pedals. Similar to how a tube amp just sounds better than a digital/combo amp. But the pedal sounds good in general. We were running out a PA.
I mean open chords, sure you got me there, but other than that you can do tons of weird chord shit on bass too. And as far as soloing you can achieve a similar tone a guitar gets with a good distortion and a octave pedal. Either way, this is a stupid argument.

Line 6 POD HD 500
okay, in my experience of just fucking around with em, POD's are pretty good. Either way, I prefer just having individual stomp boxes, I feel like you have more flexibility and I don't really like the sound of digital distortion that's usually on all these multi effects pedals.

I agree. If I had unlimited money, I buy a bunch of individual analog pedals. But for the price, can't beat digital pedals. Its nice because I can use MIDI to directly record off it too.
