Possibly buying a godaddy domain name for this forum

Basically Vanilla forums has 2 options. You can either download their zip file, purchase a domain name, and use FTP to upload that zip file on your own domain name to make your own forum (which gives us all the power in the world to modify the forum), OR you can set up a free forum through Vanilla with no power at all (what we have now). The original forum did the first option.

Anyway, I was looking at godaddy prices, and it's only about 10 bucks a year for a domain name. So, NO PROMISES, but I might try purchasing a domain name and try to make a better forum. If we had our own forum not hosted through Vanilla, we could get all the cool add on stuff the original forums had.

To be honest...minus the adds which aren't that big of a deal..this place is pretty bawse.

I agree, but I would love to have the complete control over the forum. Like being able to move anything I want, or being able to download add ons. I can't do anything on here pretty much.

Well THIS forum doesn't cost money. If I did buy a domain name, I can afford $10 a month, it's not a big deal.

Oh and plus if I bought a domain name, the site wouldn't have ".vanillaforums.com" at the end. It would just be "mayhemforums.com" or whatever we wanted to call it.
