David still out there singing songs by Art and Simon? Poor guy.
Yea. Breaking Benjamin was great as always.
Disturbed was good, but they need to edit their set. The acoustic song in the middle of the set completely killed the vibe and momentum. Especially because there was like 10 minutes of talking about suicide before and after it, with David fake crying. Then the stupid Sound Of Silence cover killed all the momentum again a few songs later. And then they took like a whole 20 minutes talking and inviting people on stage to "tell their stories" of abuse and depression, and then played another lame slow ass song.
They easily could have played 6 more actual good songs by cutting out all the filler. Not to mention a drum solo section and a bass solo section (does anybody actually like when bands do those?) Definitely a weirdly paced set from Disturbed.
I saw them in clubs first time being before their second album came out. The shows were so much fun. Going into 08 mayhem friends were giving me shit for trying to say disturbed would be good and surprise them. It was like a switch flipped with them it was so god damn boring and it hasn’t changed since.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
Yeah it was my first time seeing them and they completely lost me. The whole mjddle section was full of new gay shit and wayyyy to much talking holy shit they legit could have played 4 or 5 more. I haven’t really been into them in years and would have passed on the show but my buddy has hit a pretty rough patch in life and they’re his favorite band so I offered to buy him a ticket and take him to the show and grab him some beers. Haven’t seen him smile this much in the last 8 months so it was worth it. That being said they had a lot of fun visuals and Breaking Benjamin was bad ass so I had fun.
I think I've told this story on here before but my dad took my 2 brothers and 2 cousins to Ozzfest 2001. None of us were older than 12. We met Disturbed at a free meet and greet and the singer saw us in line and got a kick out of us being so young. He offered my dad to take us all to catering and feed us for free but we had just eaten.
So then he offered us two options: he could get us backstage and meet Linkin Park or we could go with him to watch Mudvayne on the stage. We chose Mudvayne and watched their entire set from the side of the stage. Still the coolest concert experiences I've had to this day and while I haven't listened a new album of theirs in like 15 years I'll always be a fan
