Thalia Hall is fucking fantastic venue. Absolutely amazing. Entirely mexican neighborhood but I parked on the street with zero issue. There's a record shop across the street. I would love to see another show there
There's a bar/restaurant downstairs where we hung out before the show. Place is way too hip. A burger and fries is listed as "Slagel Farms beef with chopped red onions and romain lettuce with beef fried frites"
I dont know what to do about the Carpenter Brut show now. I bought tickets, and really want to go. But apparently its in a bad neighborhood and my parents are freaking out now.
Just found OP. Oh my God dude, don't think about it and go. Place is basically under gentrification. The venue is too beautiful to pass up because it's in a neighborhood with a bad rep. We drove four hours and parked three blocks away with what was easily the best looking car in the entire three blocks. Didn't get robbed, had a great time.
Shittiest part was the venue is upstairs and only has two narrow staircases. It's a bitch getting out if you grab barrier and the venue doesn't have drinking fountains and refuses to sell water after the show ends. I told them I was dehydrated and needed water and they told me try couldn't do anything.
Do it. It's straight up little Mexico out there. Not a single store/restaurant that isn't in Spanish. Then you walk into the bar and it's like the fountain of hipsters.
couple pics I grabbed while we were there. Caught UMO back in May. I didn't get to talk to Ruben at that show but I held his hand while he stood on the barrier lol
Forgot I originally came in here to say I'm heading out Colorado way this summer for Red Rocks. Portugal. The Man is headling with Local Natives and Car Seat Headrest AND they're playing a 500 capacity bar the night before.
