I really like Polyphia, but i haven't listened to Chon much. I was just debating on whether to go to the PEriphery.Sikth/Chon/Toothgrinder tour net week, or Belphegor/Origin/Abigail Williams
I like they're more jam-y than most instrumental bands. Animals As Leaders/Scale the summit are alright, but it just gets boring after a bit. I can listen to both Polyphia albums on repeat without getting bored.
Just now listened. I don't listen to any of the bands listed and don't really know much in the instrumental metal outside of God Is and Astronaut but that was pretty sweet. The production at the beginning had me not sure what to expect. The time I tried listening to AAL got old quick but I'd be interested in hearing some more from them.

I love instrumental music, especially in a live setting. It's just a whole different atmosphere, especially considering I really enjoy more progressive styles of music. God Is An Astronaut are great, but there's a ton of others who don't get acknowledged as much as i think they should. Cloudkicker, Pelican, Caspian, Mestis, Fifths Of Seven, Polyphia, Strawberry Girls, Conquering Dystopia, Explosions In The Sky, Bongripper, and Tycho are some of my favorites. Sannhet, Scale The Summit, T,R,A.M, Intervals are alright.
This is my personal favorite Polyphia song. Easily their most straight forward jam.
