Legendary stoner rock band Sleep has just announced a string of summer North American tour dates. On the heels of its sold out U.S. tour run last September, the California trio will return to the stage this summer by popular demand. Live dates in NYC (June 22) and Los Angeles (June 26) will bookend an appearance at the Sled Island Music & Arts Festival in Calgary, AB on June 24, where the group will share the stage with The Dandy Warhols, Blonde Redhead, The Buzzcocks and more. Dates include:
6/22 New York, NY @ Terminal 5 6/24 Calgary, AB @ Sled Island Festival 6/26 Los Angeles, CA @ The Wiltern
Once referred to as "the ultimate stoner rock band," Sleep evolved in the early 1990s and has exerted a considerable, consistent influence on modern heavy music ever since. The group split in 1997 after the release of two hugely influential albums -- Sleep's Holy Mountain and Dopesmoker -- returning triumphantly in 2009 when it performed two UK shows as part of All Tomorrow's Parties' (ATP) The Fans Strike Back festival, playing Holy Mountain in its entirety along with selections from Dopesmoker. The rabid fan response to the 2009 shows resulted in a run of U.S. live dates in September 2010 that immediately sold out. In celebrating the band's return, The New York Times referred to the trio as "excellent" and The Chicago Tribune called Sleep "stoner-rock titans."
It doesn't matter if they have done anything recently that tour will sell out and I don't get it especially with them headlining rock on the range
i just looked at the rock on the range lineup for the first time and i thought the mayhem lineup was bad, holy shit. how can you bash mayhem when your going to that? seriously?
Because I am not going to that?
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

... i wish I had the money to go. It's in NYC and with all the surcharges tix would have been almost $50 a piece, that's too much for me. SUcks, I wanted to go :-S
...have fun FaceFuck!
Jeez, VIP tickets are only $50.
yeah buddy, they'll list tickets for $30 and when youre done being robbed with all the surcharges, convinience fees, processing fees, ticket print fees, then the fucking price is $50. That's NY for ya, that's why I don't go there often unless I really want to see a show. I HATE FUCKING TICKET FEES X(
APC is awesome, but Emotive (the album of covers), was godawful.
Passive is my favorite song by them (and it's actually not a cover).
I know it's not a cover, and it is a good song, although not their best. That being said it doesn't excuse the rest of the absolute garbage that the rest of the album consists of.
